The 72nd annual golf outing and dinner took place in Hermitage Golf Club on Friday 9th May 2014. It was attended by over 70 past pupils from almost all the Loreto schools in Ireland.

As usual, Stephanie Graham and Joan Merrigan handled the registration of players, assisted by Mary O’Gorman. The excitement of the reunions of old pals was evident in the chatter and laughter around the entrance to the clubhouse and then it was off to the appointed tee boxes, the hooter sounded and the golf began.
Hermitage was in fantastic condition as always and was just as challenging as ever, especially with a strong breeze blowing. Luckily after just a small shower, the rain held off and even the worse golf was enjoyable. The winners were worthy of their prizes, having managed to rise to the challenge of Hermitage in the wind.
Once the beautifying was done, all gathered in the bar, to renew old friendships and general catching up was done. We were honoured this year to have the Lady Captain of Hermitage Dolores Aird, welcome us to Hermitage.
During the meal, we were address by Sr. Noelle Corscadden, Provincial leader Loreto Ireland .Sr. Noelle spoke about the Loreto School for girls, which she helped set up in Rumbek, South Sudan. During the evening we held a raffle for Rumbek, which was generously supported by all present. President elect of the Union, Emily Banville, spoke about the work of the Union and she also presented the Gross Prize.
We were very grateful to have received sponsorship for the day from The Sports Surgery Clinic in Santry. We would like to congratulate Fiana O’Hanahran on winning our cup this year – the full list of results and photos from the day will be posted here soon.
Many thanks, to all who helped to make the day such a fantastic success. In no particular order, Ann Murray, Mary O’Gorman, Bronwyn O’Donnell, Deirdre Naughton, Stephanie Graham, Joan Merrigan, Ger Ryan and Patricia Gleeson.
Finally, and most importantly we have a date for you diary!!!
